EasyDoc Welding helps prepare and manage qualification records. It does not replace the test, examinations, evaluation or signature required by the standard, which are the responsibility of the examiner or certification body.
It is the record proving that a welder has passed a qualification test to a standard (ISO 9606-1, ASME IX, AWS D1.1…). It records the variables of the test coupon, the test results and the range of work the welder is qualified to perform.
ISO 9606-1 is the international standard for steel welders and requires periodic confirmation of the certificate's validity. ASME Section IX applies to work under ASME codes (pressure vessels, boilers, piping) and defines its own essential variables and ranges. Each is handled in its own module.
Validity depends on the revalidation option chosen and on the welding coordinator or employer confirming every six months that the welder has kept working within the range. Check the validity clause of the current standard for your specific case.
